The meaning behind the name "China"
Did you know? The Chinese name for China is called "Zhōng Guó" (中国), which literally translates into “Middle Kingdom”.

First used almost 3,000 years ago during the Zhou Dynasty (1066-771 BC), the name reflected their ancient worldview that China was at the center of the world.

The name is so apt that even centuries later today, the name has not changed.
