Is Sacramento’s housing market ready to grow up? 沙加缅度房地市场准备长大? Today there’s just a fenced-off pit the size of a city block to remind residents of a time when Sacramento’s housing market seemed ready to reach for the sky and draw thousands of upscale buyers to downtown condominiums. Toward the end of last decade’s housing boom, developers promoted ambitious proposals to raise residential towers that would dwarf the existing skyline and serve notice that Sacramento was becoming a major metropolis. How to make your new house feel like home

How to make your new house feel like home (BPT) - You know that moving into a new home can be one of life's biggest stressors - the packing, the paperwork, the unpacking and of course finding the nearest coffee shop. Making your new house feel like your home can help alleviate some of this stress and provide a safe-haven for some much needed relaxation. “Everyone has a different sense of what home is,” says Elizabeth Lindmier of The Art Institute of Colorado. Comfort  – Have some place in your home where you can relax, recharge and feel at ease. “Make a space where you would like to sp...

Organizers would like to add an indoor learning space and spruce up the bathrooms the facility shares with the park.   LISA WELGE Humpty Dumpty sits on a wall above the entrance to Fairytale Town, that beloved children’s play land in Land Park. But if Humpty’s friends aren’t careful, we might one day be asking whether someone pushed him from his stoop. That’s because the folks who run Fairytale Town are thinking about expanding. The park has been open since 1959, and advocates think it’s time for some “enhancements.” Kathy Fleming, the facility’s director, said the planning is in an “embryonic” stage, but she has some ideas. Fairytale Town would like to expand by half an acre, toward some soccer fields and a picnic area in ...

So you would think that China obsessively ensures there is no wastage in its agriculture sector. You would be wrong. Every year China wastes at least 35 million metric tons of grain through subpar storage, during transportation by truck, rail, and boat, and through excessive processing, said a Chinese official earlier this week. “The losses can feed 200 million people for a year, which is ...
